March 17th - First Baptist, Walterboro
EVENT DETAILS
This event provides training for those interested in meeting needs after a disaster. Classes are offered in the various ministry areas of disaster relief: damage assessment, children’s response teams, communications, feeding, flood and fire response (mud-out/ash-out), chainsaw, rebuild, shower/laundry, administration. Additionally, an “Introduction to Disaster Relief” class is required of all new volunteers. (For those interested in chaplaincy, an “Introduction to Chaplaincy” class is offered at this event – the actual chaplaincy training is held at a separate event in May.)
This day of training will include three class times, a general session, and lunch. BONUS: An additional “Introduction to Disaster Relief” class will be available on Friday evening (at no additional charge) for those that register for the Saturday training. This will allow new volunteers to take Intro on Friday evening and then take three ministry-area classes on Saturday.
