One in 10 children in the U.S. will be sexually abused before the age of 18. Our churches have the important responsibility to prevent abuse and protect children.  Pastor Marty Hogue, First Baptist Church of Ravenel, presented an initiative to address this issue at our Annual Meeting last year.  He and his wife Carol are certified trainers through the Darkness to Light organization.   A two-hour training has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 8 at Portside Baptist Church at 9 a.m. Pastors and church staff members are strongly encouraged to participate in the training.  Please sign up for this event by clicking HERE
