Shepherding people in our congregations is a high calling especially being attentive to the dangers of sexual abuse. Protecting the vulnerable, caring for victims and implementing measures is mission critical. Immediately following our Executive Committee Meeting, lead pastors are strongly encouraged to attend this envisioning gathering. Our association has committed to make this issue a centralized focus for strengthening churches. Attorney Bostic & Pastor Blalock will be speaking to how churches must safeguard their people as well as how to respond when there is abuse. Our state and national convention is creating and curating resources for best practices and next steps. State Convention leadership has prioritized and funded a full-time staff position for a qualified individual who is trauma-informed and biblically equipped to equip church leaders and congregations.
